Venice Again: Day 3: Light To Die For

So far my weather app has been correct and we have has oodles of glorious sunshine - happy days!

All of today's photographs have been shot in black and white as a homage to Sebastiao Salgado.

Washing in Campo Arsenale opposite our apartment.

This slogan has been posted in a couple of places here, I wonder if it is to do with the Ukraine and Russia?

The three of us reflected.

Clare and Mum at Sebastiao Salgado exhibition 'Genesis' at Casa della Trei Oci.

With these shots I was less intent on taking a picture of somebody else's photograph, and more interested in the reflections on the glass of said photograph to create an abstract image of my own.

Shadows and reflections in the gallery.

Some of Salgado's stunning photographs.

The gallery is photogenic and beautiful in its own right.

More of Salgado's work.

I absolutely loved this image of a sea lion, caught at that exact moment when it looked over its' shoulder.

The magnificent chandelier in the gallery.

One of the great things about viewing this exhibition here in Venice as opposed to London, is that there were hardly any people in this gallery so it was really easy to see and appreciate all the photographs without having to jostle for a good view. This made me very glad that I managed to miss the exhibition when it was showing at home!

The light in the late afternoon today was absolutely stunning, crystal clear blue sky and long shadows everywhere. After a rest this afternoon I wandered out with my Nikon and iPhone to take some photographs during a gentle stroll from our apartment down to San Marco. It was so warm that it is hard to believe it is only March, I am glad and happy with the wonderful weather that we have had so far.
